Eurozone economic growth stable at 1.2% in first quarter - Eurostat

(Alliance News) - The eurozone's economic growth continued with little change in the first quarter, while industrial output jumped comfortably, data published by Eurostat showed Thursday.

The eurozone's economy climbed 1.2% on-year in the first quarter, unchanged from the pace of growth in the final quarter of 2024.

On-quarter, economic growth picked up 0.3% in the first quarter, higher compared to 0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Further, on-year employment growth in the eurozone was unchanged at 0.8% in the first quarter.

On-quarter employment growth climbed to 0.3% in the first quarter from 0.1% in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Separately, Eurostat reported that industrial output in the eurozone climbed 2.6% monthly in March, up sharply from 1.1% growth in February.

On-year industrial output growth sped up to 3.6% in March from 1.0% in February.
