EU trade chief says tariff deal with US needs 'joint effort'

(Alliance News) - EU trade chief Maros Sefcovic said achieving a deal with the US on bringing down tariffs would take "a significant joint effort" from both parties, after talks with his US counterparts Monday.
The bloc's trade commissioner said "the EU remains constructive and ready for a fair deal," after meeting with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US trade envoy Jamieson Greer in Washington.
He said this deal could include reciprocity through a "zero-for-zero" tariff offer on industrial goods, but added in a social media post that "achieving this will require a significant joint effort on both sides.
